Connect to a wireless network

Enter a security key for the wireless network

If the wireless network is protected, you can click the network name from the list and enter the security key. If you experience problems connecting to the wireless network during installation of Windows, skip this step and instead connect to the network from inside the Windows 7 when installation is complete. Then you will have access to the debugging functions.

Step 32:
Choose a network location

If the installer detects that your computer is connected to a network (either via the network cable or wireless connection) so you must specify the type of network. By specifying the type of network that your computer is on, many security settings automatically. During installation, you can choose between three different types of networks:

* Select Home network if the computer is connected to a home network or if you know and trust the people who are connected to the network. If you choose this option enabled network discovery (network discovery), which makes it possible to see the other computers and devices on the network and makes your computer visible to other users on the network. Computers on a home network can also connect to a Heme.
* Select the Workplace Network if your computer is connected to a small office network or another network workstation. Function Network Identification (network discovery), which makes it possible to see the other computers and devices on the network when activated by default and users can even see your computer on your network. You can not create or join a Heme.
* Choose a public network if the computer is connected to a network in a public place (eg cafe or airport). If you choose this option, your computer is not visible to other computers on the network (network discovery function is disabled) and protection against malicious code from the Internet is elevated. You can not create or join the heme group if you are connected to a public network. You should also select this option if you are directly connected to the Internet without using a router or if you use a mobile broadband connection (3G).

Note also that there is a fourth type of network - network domain - which is used for computers that are connected to larger networks of work. You can not choose the setting domain network but it is set automatically when you connect your computer to a computer domain. After you connect your computer to the domain, these settings are controlled by the system administrator for the domain (usually the IT department).

If you are connecting to different networks at different places (eg home, at work, at coffee shops), so this feature can help you set the appropriate security settings automatically. (Note that the dialog box, select the computer's current location is displayed each time you connect to a new network).

Wait while your computer is connected to the network

Join a Heme

If you're in the preceding dialog box chose the setting Home network setup program will search the network for a Heme. Based on the results of this search is done as one of the following:

If no Heme is found in the network so creates a Heme automatically. An automatically generated password created for the heme group, but no library on the computer is delivered.

If a Heme is found in the network to display a dialog where you can choose to connect your computer to the heme group. If you want to connect to the heme group, you need the password for the heme group. You can get the password from the person who created the heme group.

In the dialog box below, a Heme found in the home network and the user is able to enter the password for the heme group and choose which library he or she wants to share with the other users of the heme group.
